Nursery Learn About Sikhism

Last Friday nursery were visited by a guest speaker Mrs Khera to talk to the children about Guru Gobind Singh’s Birthday.
Nursery learned that Guru Gobind Singh is the 10th Guru and that Guru means teacher. We learned that he was the son of the 9th Guru. Guru Gobind Singh was very strong and became a warrior and was blessed with 4 sons. Unfortunately there was tragedy within the family and many family members died. Mrs Khera explained to the children how important it is to stay strong. She also explained about the importance of having long hair and wearing a turban within the Sikh religion, along with other things such as caring for people and animals.
